Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, overseeing repair projects, and providing hands-on training to less-experienced associates. The position requires managing maintenance schedules, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Senior Technician supports operational excellence by maintaining equipment, documenting activities, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts while upholding company policies and values.
About the team:
The Facility Services General Maintenance team ensures Walmart and Sam’s Club locations operate safely and efficiently through routine repairs and preventive maintenance. This team handles a wide range of building and equipment upkeep, from doors and flooring to forklifts and shopping carts. Members collaborate to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards. They support each other by sharing expertise and providing hands-on training. The team plays a vital role in sustaining facility functionality and delivering reliable service to support business operations across multiple sites.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures to ensure safety and functionality.
- Inspect, diagnose, and document wear, damage, and repair needs using manuals, blueprints, and tools.
- Lead and mentor less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and overseeing work quality and safety compliance.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor relationships to support operational efficiency.
- Operate heavy machinery and company vehicles safely, conducting pre- and post-operation inspections.
- Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and local regulations and company standards.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance.
- Proficiency in multiple crafts such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment operation.
- Ability to diagnose issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Skilled in operating heavy machinery and power tools following safety protocols.
- Strong leadership capabilities to oversee projects and mentor less-experienced associates.
- Competence in managing work orders, budgets, parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively and support continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
