What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, managing maintenance schedules, overseeing less-experienced associates, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers. The position requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate documentation and budget oversight. The Senior Technician also provides hands-on training and supports continuous improvement efforts to uphold quality and operational excellence across Walmart facilities.

The General Maintenance team ensures Walmart’s facilities operate efficiently through effective project management and strict safety compliance. This team plans and executes maintenance projects, manages budgets, and adheres to OSHA standards. Members collaborate to address facility needs including landscaping, snow removal, and equipment upkeep, focusing on quality and operational efficiency. By applying best practices and fostering strong partnerships across departments, the team delivers reliable, safe, and cost-effective maintenance solutions that support Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations.
- Inspect, diagnose, and document issues using blueprints, manuals, and tools, recommending repairs or replacements as needed.
- Lead and mentor less-experienced associates, providing hands-on training and overseeing work quality and safety standards.
- Manage work orders, parts inventory, and contractor relationships while ensuring adherence to budget and company policies.
- Operate heavy machinery and company vehicles safely, conducting pre- and post-operation inspections.
- Collaborate with teams to improve processes and support continuous facility maintenance excellence.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in performing pm and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and safety guidelines.
- Proficiency in utilizing multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to diagnose issues using repair manuals, and parts catalogs, and to operate hand and power tools safely.
- Experience managing work orders, schedules, parts inventory, and contractor coordination to ensure quality and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and commitment to maintaining safety and code standards.
- Capability to lead, train, and mentor less-experienced associates and serve as a job foreman.
- Skilled in documenting maintenance activities, compiling budget information, and submitting warranty claims.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
