Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment, to perform maintenance ensuring safety, functionality, and compliance of food service equipment and related facilities. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and managing equipment, overseeing projects, and providing hands-on training to associates. The position requires coordinating with suppliers and contractors, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to regulatory standards. The Senior Technician supports operational excellence by troubleshooting issues, managing resources efficiently, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts within facility services. The Facility Services team is dedicated to maintaining and repairing equipment and facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and efficiency. This team applies a range of technical skills, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, to address maintenance needs and oversee projects. Members collaborate to manage work orders, coordinate with contractors, and comply with regulations. They support continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and providing hands-on training. The team operates with integrity and professionalism, focusing on delivering reliable facility services that uphold company standards and contribute to a safe and well-maintained environment.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on food equipment and facility systems to ensure safety and functionality.
- Diagnose equipment issues using blueprints, manuals, and testing procedures; dismantle and replace defective parts as needed.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory while coordinating with suppliers and contractors.
- Train and mentor less-experienced technicians through hands-on instruction and safety training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support critical business needs outside regular hours.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of food equipment and related facility systems.
- Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor relationships.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong skills in training and mentoring less-experienced technicians.
- Capability to operate heavy machinery and company vehicles safely and in accordance with policies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.00 - $63.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
