About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our Road and Highway Infrastructure Project team in Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will provide geotechnical engineering expertise throughout project planning, investigation, design, construction supervision, and risk management phases. The role will support the delivery of safe, sustainable, and resilient transportation infrastructure in challenging terrain and geological conditions.
Responsibilities
Conduct geotechnical analyses for road embankments, cut slopes, retaining structures, pavement foundations, bridges, culverts, and associated infrastructure.
Review geotechnical data and provide technical advice to design and construction teams
Prepare Geotechnical Investigation Reports, Geotechnical Design Reports, and technical specifications.
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved geotechnical designs and specifications.
Prepare technical presentations and reports for clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related with geotechnical engineering
Minimum 5 years’ experience in highway design projects, including extensive experience as a geotechnical engineer, preferably for projects funded by MDBs
Male or female
Good communication in English Language
Preferred Skills
Geotechnical site investigation planning and interpretation.
Ground improvement and soil stabilization techniques.
Geotechnical software skill
Preparation of geotechnical reports and technical documentation.
