Missions/Main Duties
The role
As a Civil Engineer in our Rail Infrastructure team, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of complex rail and civil projects across the full project lifecycle.
You’ll be involved in:
- Rail alignment design including horizontal and vertical geometry
- Civil design for earthworks, drainage, access roads and corridor infrastructure
- Concept, detailed design and construction documentation
- Multidisciplinary coordination with signalling, structural, geotechnical and electrical teams
- Safety in Design reviews and development of practical, constructible solutions
- Technical reviews, design documentation and quality assurance
Profile/Skills
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a qualified Civil Engineer with proven rail infrastructure experience and a strong understanding of rail engineering principles, standards and project delivery.
To be successful, you’ll bring
- Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Experience delivering rail infrastructure projects in heavy rail, light rail or metro environments
- Strong capability in rail alignment, earthworks, drainage and corridor design
- Local experience applying Australian rail standards with experience working with ARTC, TfNSW and/or Queensland Rail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well across multidisciplinary teams
Highly regarded
- CPEng or currently working toward Chartership
- Experience in consulting, contractor or client-side rail environments
- Knowledge of brownfield rail design and constructability
- Experience with 12d, Bentley OpenRail Designer, Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation or ProjectWise
