Description
At Tennis Australia (TA) plans are underway to deliver our summer of tennis for 2027! We are looking for a Safety Officer to join our team until mid - January 2027.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager Safety, Compliance and Emergency Management, the Safety Officer will:
- Assist in the delivery of the contractor Induction
- Undertake incident investigations and incident reporting
- Complete hazard and risk identification, classification, and control in an event management & construction environment
- Monitor, audit and implement site specific safety management systems and performance
- Conduct safety assessments with staff including developing Safe Work Method Statements and Manual Handling Risk Assessments
- Monitor and audit contractor’s safety systems
- Implement safety procedures, monitor safety performance, and undertake safety reporting
What you will bring to the role:
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a range of contractors and service providers
- Ability to provide quality administrative services in a busy environment following established systems and procedures
- Tournament knowledge and event management experience is desirable
- OH&S Certificate IV or higher is desirable
- Warden training desirable
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the events industry desirable
- Knowledge and previous experience in OH&S in the events industry
- Knowledge and understanding of OH&S principles and legislations
