Senior Strategic Advisor, Healthcare

Job Description

The Senior Strategic Advisor leverages deep pharmacy industry expertise to identify and advance innovative cost-of-care savings opportunities, develop revenue-generating pharmacy products and programs, optimize existing solutions for greater impact and efficiency, and lead strategic initiatives that drive enterprise value through internal and external collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Identify and lead innovative pharmacy strategies that reduce cost of care, improve member outcomes, and support enterprise growth.
•  Develop and optimize pharmacy products, programs, and partnerships to create new revenue streams and enhance market competitiveness.
• Evaluate emerging industry, regulatory, and technology trends to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
• Conduct complex financial, operational, and market analyses to support strategic decision-making and investment priorities.
• Present strategic recommendations and business insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Build and manage relationships with PBMs, vendors, and partners to accelerate innovation and value creation.
• Serve as a pharmacy strategy expert and collaborate across the enterprise to advance business objectives.
• Lead the execution, measurement, and continuous improvement of strategic initiatives that deliver sustainable enterprise value.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, business development, product innovation, market development, consulting, pharmacy operations, or related strategic functions.
• OR master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, business development, product innovation, market development, consulting, pharmacy operations, or related strategic functions.
• Experience leading cross-functional programs, projects, and strategic initiatives from opportunity assessment through execution and value realization
• The ideal candidate is a strategic and innovative thought leader with experience in pharmacy health plan operations, PBM, pharmacy strategy, or healthcare consulting. They possess strong business development, product strategy, financial analysis acumen, and stakeholder management skills, with a successful track record of identifying and implementing opportunities that reduce cost of care, generate revenue, and create sustainable business value.
• Strong preference for Medicare experience.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets,  licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs. 

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
