House Springs Animal Clinic is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our experienced and compassionate team. We’re a two-doctor small animal practice that has proudly served Jefferson County and the surrounding communities for more than 47 years.

Our hospital combines decades of trusted community care with modern veterinary medicine. We offer in-house laboratory capabilities, digital radiography, patient surgical monitoring, surgical laser technology, and more. What You’ll Do

• Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection
• Obtain high-quality radiographs while maintaining appropriate imaging standards
• Perform in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, fecal testing, and more
• Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care
• Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs during procedures and maintain accurate records
• Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, wound care, and recovery support
• Use Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to help keep patients safe and comfortable
• Educate clients about patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventive care
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
• Document patient care and treatments clearly and efficiently
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas
• Follow established infection-control protocols
• Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture
• Participate in ongoing training and professional growth opportunities

What You’ll Bring

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred
• Experienced veterinary assistant/technician candidates are welcome
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Previous experience in client care and communication
• Previous surgical experience
• Safe and effective patient handling and restraint skills
• Knowledge of preventive care and vaccines
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring, induction, and recovery
• Competency in surgical and emergency patient care, including IV catheter placement
• Strong technical skills in venipuncture, phlebotomy, sample collection, and laboratory procedures
• Experience with radiology, diagnostics, and basic imaging techniques
• Understanding of pharmacology and medication administration
• Experience assisting with surgery and providing patient nursing care
• Ability to accurately triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories
• Commitment to low-stress or Fear Free patient handling techniques
• Clear, professional, and compassionate communication with clients and teammates
• Strong attention to detail and accurate medical documentation skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced veterinary environment
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• A collaborative, team-first mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
