Maintenance Technician-JLL

 

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in keeping building systems and equipment operating safely and reliably. This hands-on position focuses on performing preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, inspections, and general facility support across diverse building infrastructure. You'll work with HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, pumps, motors, lighting, doors, and mechanical components while supporting laboratory and specialized spaces. Working alongside Operating Engineers and skilled trades professionals, you'll respond to service requests, complete routine maintenance tasks, and help identify issues that require specialized attention. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, pumps, motors, and mechanical equipment

• Complete minor mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general facility repairs within your training and qualification requirements

• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and building infrastructure, identifying leaks, damage, abnormal noise, vibration, wear, or other deficiencies

• Respond to facility service requests and work orders, replacing filters, belts, hardware, lighting components, and other routine maintenance items

• Document all work performed in the CMMS, including equipment condition, materials used, and recommended follow-up actions

• Assist Operating Engineers and skilled trades with equipment maintenance, contractor coordination, and facility-related emergency responses

• Maintain mechanical rooms, work areas, and shops in clean and safe condition while following all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements

 

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of commercial building maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related hands-on experience

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical building systems

• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, meters, and maintenance equipment

• Capability to read work instructions, equipment manuals, and basic drawings

• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify equipment deficiencies and safety hazards

• Ability to work independently while supporting engineers, skilled trades, and facility leadership

 

Preferred qualifications:

• Technical or trade-school training in building maintenance or related field

• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

• Familiarity with laboratory or specialized-space support equipment

• Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes

• Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs in commercial facilities
