The Opportunity: 

Provide expertise to support the linkage, distribution, and documentation of federal and non-federal data, including federally-funded research. Document data provenance, data mapping across sets, linkage methodology, linkage technical support, data masking, multi-way linkage, reporting study linkage and provide data linkage products. Work with us to use data for good.

You Have:   

• 3+ years of experience performing cloud-based data management with health data in SQL and Python, including using Databricks or Snowflake and big data tools or frameworks, such as Spark 

• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of data 

• Experience designing and developing ETL workflows and monitoring and troubleshooting ETL processes to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner 

• Experience with data validation, cleansing, and enrichment techniques to improve the accuracy and completeness of data 

• Experience applying data linkage methodologies to healthcare datasets  

• Knowledge of healthcare data such as Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS), Master Beneficiary Summary File (MBSF), Standard Analytic Files (SAF), or Prescription Drug Event (PDE) data 

• Ability to design and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures to support operations and to build and maintain data integrations with internal and external data sources and APIs 

• Ability to communicate and clearly explain complex methodologies, and present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

• Bachelor’s degree 

Nice If You Have:   

• 5+ years of experience performing cloud-based data management with health data in SQL and Python, including using Databricks or Snowflake and big data tools or frameworks, such as Spark 

• Experience providing technical assistance to researchers and other stakeholders on topics such as establishing data linkages and longitudinal file development 

• Experience administering role-based access controls 

• Experience with data masking  

• Experience with federal health data privacy and security policies 

• Experience with Agile engineering practices 

• Experience analyzing health insurance claims data in the Chronic Conditions Warehouse (CCW), Integrated Data Repository (IDR), or Centralized Data Repository (CDR) 

• Experience working with a Health agency

• Master's degree preferred

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
