Description
Staff Accountant
Lone Star Corporation is searching for a full time Staff Accountant. Looking for a skilled and well-rounded accountant to ensure quality work. Must be confident in prioritizing tasks and working with little supervision, self-motivated and trustworthy. Role will report to our CFO.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Payable invoices and vendor payments
- Assist with Accounts Receivable, including customer invoicing, payment application, and collections follow-up
- Process payroll and maintain payroll-related records
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Maintain and update accounting records and files
- Enter and verify accounting data for accuracy
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations
- Maintain vendor and customer records in the accounting system
- Assist with sales tax documentation and reporting
- Support the accounting team with administrative and clerical duties as needed
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets as requested
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information
Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP, AR, or payroll experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with accounting software is a plus
- Texas sales tax knowledge is a plus
- Vista by Viewpoint experience is a plus
- Professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity required
