Network and Computer System Administrator, Intermediate

Currently, we are seeking a Network and Computer System Administrator, Intermediate. This role supports a Navy customer in Lexington Park, MD.

Job Description and Responsibilities: We are seeking a skilled VDI Administrator / Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and End User Devices (EUD). This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of virtual desktop environments and end-user devices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering VDI platforms, managing Windows and RHEL operating systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure. The candidate will work closely with Data Center IT operations, network, security, and application teams to deliver a stable, secure, and efficient end-user computing environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Administration
    • Administer, maintain, and support VDI environments, including Omnissa Horizon.
    • Provision, configure, and manage virtual desktops, desktop pools, user profiles, and application delivery.
    • Monitor VDI performance, capacity, availability, and resource utilization.
    • Troubleshoot desktop connectivity, login failures, profile issues, application performance, and session-related problems.
    • Manage desktop images, golden images, templates, operating system updates, and image lifecycle activities.
    • Manage application packaging, deployment, and compatibility within virtual desktop environments.
    • Optimize virtual desktop performance, user experience, resource allocation, and infrastructure utilization.
    • Perform VDI upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and maintenance activities.
    • Maintain VDI documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery processes.
2. Systems Administration
    • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows and Red Hat operating systems for end user devices.
    • Manage patching, software updates, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
    • Troubleshoot operating system, service, hardware, network and application-related issues.
    • Perform end-user device provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
    • Provide technical support for VDI, Windows and RHEL desktop and laptops issues.
    • Ensure incidents and service requests are resolved within established SLAs.
    • Familiar with HP and Dell computer hardware

Basic Requirements: Journeyman/Intermediate -Level Requirements: 3-5 years of applicable work experience.

Certification Requirements: Sec+ or CASP. Windows, RHEL or VMware certification

Security Clearance:  Top Secret or above (must be a US Citizen)

Telework and Travel: On-Site
