Description
We are recruiting one postdoctoral researcher to join our team.
Your role
You will define and lead a research agenda at the intersection of multimodal large language models and networking, examples include semantic and context-aware networking, resource management in edge computing systems, and AI-native network control. An important part of the role is designing and building realistic simulators to generate data, evaluate algorithms, and study network behavior under dynamic conditions. Our ongoing project funded through NSF and RCF joint project provides a motivating public-safety communication context.
You will work closely with the PI and with international collaborators, and will take a leading role in mentoring PhD and Master's students while advancing your independent research profile.
The position requires
- PhD in computer science, telecommunications / electrical engineering, or a related field
- Excellent research track record in networking or MLLMs or LLMs
- Demonstrated experience in building and designing simulation environments
- Merit: Experience in developing algorithms for resource management
- Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to doctoral researchers and master’s students, and collaborate with diverse research groups
What we offer
You will become a part of the Cloud and Network Computing group, headed by assistant professor Gopika Premsankar. Our group is dedicated to advancing research in networked systems, primarily focused on lowering the environmental footprint of such systems while enhancing performance and reliability. The NSF-RCF joint project provides opportunities for visiting collaborators in North Carolina State University and Penn State University. The role is fully funded for 2 years, with the possibility of a longer stay.
You will receive a competitive salary, starting at approximately 4220 EUR / month for a postdoctoral researcher. The contract includes comprehensive occupational health benefits.
