Overview

The Power Systems Digital Strategy and Analytics Manager turns enthusiasm for software, data, and technology into practical improvements across Altorfer Power Systems. If you enjoy exploring what applications can do, connecting information, building useful dashboards, and finding better ways to work, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in a growing business serving power generation and mission-critical customers.

Working alongside department leaders, IT, and technology partners, you will identify opportunities, evaluate tools, and help implement solutions that simplify workflows, improve decisions, and enhance the customer experience. Your work will combine hands-on analytics with selected digital initiatives, user training, and application adoption. Priorities and resources will be aligned with division leadership, giving you a clear focus and cross-functional support to turn promising ideas into measurable results.

Basic Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy and priorities. Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap of analytics and digital improvement initiatives across Power Systems. Align scope, timing, resources, and expected benefits with division leadership, and communicate progress, competing priorities, and resource needs.
  • Business requirements and measures. Partner with Product Support, Packaging, Logistics, Sales, Power Rental, Data Center, and other functions to understand business needs, evaluate workflows, and define reporting requirements, performance measures, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analytics and reporting. Develop and improve priority reports, dashboards, and analytical tools, coordinating with IT and other resources as needed. Analyze trends and performance gaps, and translate findings into practical recommendations for department leaders.
  • Data quality. Coordinate common data definitions, quality standards, and monitoring practices with department leaders and IT. Identify data issues and support corrective action, with departments retaining accountability for accurate data entry and adherence to agreed processes.
  • Digital implementation. Coordinate selected application implementations, system enhancements, integrations, and automation initiatives. Define business requirements and acceptance criteria, support testing and rollout, and partner with IT, NAXT Development, and technology providers on technical delivery.
  • Application knowledge and adoption. Develop expert working knowledge of priority Caterpillar digital applications, which may include CAT Inspect, CAT Interact, CAT Central, and PCC. Coordinate with internal specialists and Caterpillar resources to evaluate capabilities, address adoption barriers, and improve business and customer value.
  • Training and support transition. Develop or coordinate training, resources, and onboarding guidance with department teams. Support customer onboarding where applicable, and establish a clear handoff to designated department users, IT, or application support resources for routine assistance after implementation.
  • Results and continuous improvement. Monitor agreed measures of utilization, effectiveness, and business benefit. Gather user feedback, recommend improvements, and document repeatable practices that can be adopted across Power Systems.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, reporting, or digital business improvement, including successful delivery of projects with measurable results.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, or recurring reporting solutions and translating business data into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to understand operational workflows, define business requirements, and identify opportunities to standardize and improve processes across functions.
  • Experience identifying data quality issues and working with business teams to improve data collection, definitions, or data-entry practices.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate initiatives through influence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and support employees through changes in systems and processes.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar analytics and reporting tools preferred.
  • Experience with application implementation, training, user onboarding, or customer enablement preferred.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar digital applications or equipment dealership operations preferred; ability and willingness to develop expertise in priority applications required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).
