Responsibilities

• Learn to translate business problems into software solutions under the guidance of senior developers
• Write code solutions that adhere to customer security and requirements
• Supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
• Ensure compliance with software design, development, testing, integration, and sustainment standards
• Research technology solutions and assist in resolving issues based on customer and business requirements
• Ensure that products are designed and developed for scalability, robustness, maintainability, and interoperability• Learn and apply Development Best Practices through mentorship and training• Collaborate with team members and seek ways to grow technical skills• Participate actively in code reviews and team learning activities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:   

• 0-2+ years of experience with full-stack software development leveraging one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Groovy, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Java, Node)
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (additional experience may be substituted for education)
• Strong understanding of database foundations (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, etc.) to include:o Basic understanding of relational database design principles (e.g. Normalization vs Denormalization)o General knowledge of database administration concepts (e.g. users, schemas, constraints)
• Possesses a basic understanding or has some experience working with multimedia streaming technologies and video processing workflows (encoding, transcoding, clipping)
• Possesses a basic understanding or has some experience with API design and implementation
• Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Possesses a basic understanding or has some experience working with Content Management Systems such as CrafterCMS
• Preferred candidates present an understanding and some experience working with a
• Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural design pattern:o Experience working with Java for backend development is idealo Experience working with JavaScript and TypeScript for frontend development is deal
• Experience with Cloud Providers, preferably AWS

What you can expect from us

• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $135,000 - 165,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
