Team Leader Local Plans

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Charnwood to assist with the appointment of a Team Leader Local Plans, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £345.38 - £468.96 per day

Summary:

An opportunity for a Team Leader Local Plans to manage the preparation, implementation and review of the Council's statutory local development framework. The role involves leading the Local Plans team, managing complex planning policy matters and supporting sustainable development across the Borough.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the preparation and review of the Council's statutory local development framework and related planning policies.
• Lead and supervise the Local Plans team, providing guidance and support on complex planning assignments.
• Provide advice on planning applications, development policies and pre application enquiries.
• Review and respond to planning policy consultations, guidance and legislative changes.
• Prepare and present reports to Council committees and project boards.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in local planning policy and development framework preparation.
• Ability to manage complex strategic planning issues and policy development.
• Experience in team management, supervision and staff development.
• Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies and stakeholders.
