The Opportunity/Role 📢

This is an excellent opportunity for an Maintenance Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing plant and equipment. Focusing on electrical systems, controls, and automation, the role will drive equipment reliability, fault resolution, and continuous improvement, while acting as the site SME for electrical and control systems. Responsibilities would include:

• Provide expert support for electrical, controls, and automation systems, including PLCs, drives, sensors, instrumentation, and machine safety equipment.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and installations to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company standards, including electrical isolation and LOTOTO procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation enhancement, and root cause analysis initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and OEE.
• Support maintenance shutdowns, equipment upgrades, capital projects, and cross-functional engineering activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift & Pay

12 hour Panama shift pattern (inclusive of 12 hours day, night and weekend shifts)
Starting from: £51,275.08 per annum (inc shift premium)

Requirements

• Proven electrical, controls, and automation experience within a manufacturing environment, with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (or equivalent apprenticeship); HNC/HND desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience with PLCs, drives, HMIs, and industrial automation systems would be advantageous.
• Strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, reliability, and preventative maintenance.
• Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in plastic extrusion/injection moulding and qualifications such as 18th Edition, IPAF, or FLT are desirable.
