Summary:
The Senior Web Content Administrator is responsible for maintaining the standards defined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the website and intranet at ICC. This position serves as the senior content authority and lead administrator of the content management system (CMS) and the system that runs the intranet.
In addition to maintaining consistent and intuitive content generation, structure, and navigation (information architecture), the Senior Web Content Administrator conducts user research to inform content and navigation decisions, works directly in HTML and CSS when the CMS editor cannot produce the intended result, and provides guidance, training, and quality review for content contributors and student workers across the college.
Compensation for the Senior Administrator - Web Content is $61,256.00-68,910.40 annually.

Content Strategy & Governance: Serve as the senior content authority for the website and intranet, setting standards, voice, and taxonomies aligned with institutional goals, belonging initiatives, and prospective student needs.
Information Architecture & Web Design: Structure site navigation, design layouts, and build web pages using CMS tools along with custom HTML/CSS code.
CMS & Intranet Administration: Co-administer the CMS, manage permissions and workflows, support the knowledge base/service catalog, and oversee common administrative platform tasks.
UX Research & Analytics: Conduct user research (interviews, testing, surveys), maintain UX artifacts (personas, journey maps), and translate analytics into actionable navigation and content improvements.
Quality Assurance, SEO & Accessibility: Maintain search engine optimization, enforce WCAG accessibility standards, and run audits to eliminate redundant, outdated, or trivial (ROT) content.
Project Management & Support: Manage end-to-end web projects, resolve escalated support tickets, and support marketing campaigns.
Technical & Procedural Documentation: Write and edit SOPs, knowledge base articles, and how-to guides; provide editorial review of technical communications such as service-related emails, infrastructure, and cybersecurity updates.
Training & Mentorship: Onboard and guide campus-wide content contributors, and provide direction, training, and quality review for student workers assigned to web and intranet content.
Operational Leadership: Act as backup to the Manager of Web Services for platform operations and content decisions as needed.
Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of three years of experience in online content and digital communications.
Minimum of two years of experience coordinating web communication projects.
Demonstrated expertise in web writing, reporting, and copy editing, with strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to hand-code HTML and CSS, including page structure, layout, and styling, working directly in code rather than solely through a visual editor.
Ability to perform advanced image manipulation, optimization, and editing using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar professional design software.
Demonstrated experience planning and conducting user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing) and translating findings into content recommendations.
Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.x) and how they apply to web content and front-end changes.
Proven track record of leading project teams, managing client communication, and training, mentoring, or reviewing the work of contributors and student workers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Media Management, Communication Studies, Marketing, Graphic Design, Information Science, or related field.
Higher education experience preferred.
Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Omni CMS.
Experience specifically with WordPress theme or template structure, the block editor (Gutenberg), custom post types, or Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
Proven ability in digital content creation, information design/architecture, metadata, and navigation hierarchies.
Demonstrated experience writing technical documentation, user guides, manuals, and knowledge base articles.
Understanding of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Section 508 guidelines.
Proficiency with a design or prototyping tool such as Figma for wireframes or interface mockups.
Ability to make minor edits to existing JavaScript and backend (i.e. PHP) code; familiarity with CSS preprocessors (Sass/SCSS) or front-end build tooling.
Understanding of web traffic metrics using tools such as Google Analytics or Data Studio.
