Summary:
We are seeking a Requirement Engineer to support requirements management for BCM application development programs. This role involves requirement analysis, documentation, decomposition, traceability, review support, change impact analysis, and collaboration with OEM, development, validation, and supplier teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
-Support elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of system, software, and feature requirements for BCM application development programs.
-Work closely with OEM stakeholders, product owners, architects, function owners, software developers, validation teams, and suppliers to understand scope, assumptions, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
-Support requirement decomposition, allocation, and refinement from vehicle-level or system-level requirements to software and component-level requirements.
-Create and update requirement specifications, use cases, functional scenarios, interface requirements, and traceability matrices for assigned BCM features.
-Maintain bidirectional traceability between stakeholder requirements, system requirements, software requirements, design inputs, implementation, and test cases under guidance.
-Participate in requirement reviews, gap analysis, impact analysis, and change request evaluation to support requirement completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.
-Support verification and validation teams by providing requirement clarification, reviewing test coverage, analyzing defects, and assisting in closure of requirement-related issues.
-Work with development and integration teams on BCM functions such as exterior lighting, wiper, washer, central locking, power windows, mirrors, horn, and body access features.
-Follow automotive engineering processes, ASPICE expectations, functional safety inputs, configuration management practices, and customer-specific documentation standards.
-Prepare requirement status updates, open issue lists, review trackers, and technical clarifications for internal and customer discussions.
Professional & Technical Skills:
-Overall 5 to 6 years of experience in automotive embedded software, requirements engineering, systems engineering, or ECU software development.
-Good experience in requirement elicitation, authoring, analysis, decomposition, change management, and traceability for automotive ECU programs.
-Good understanding of Body Control Module functions, body electronics, vehicle networks, ECU interfaces, diagnostics, and automotive software development lifecycle.
-Working knowledge of requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, Polarion, Codebeamer, JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent ALM tools.
-Experience in preparing or updating system requirement specifications, software requirement specifications, functional specifications, interface specifications, and requirement review records.
-Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS diagnostics, ECU communication concepts, signal databases, and vehicle network behavior.
-Familiarity with AUTOSAR concepts, embedded C software development, configuration management, defect lifecycle, integration, and validation processes is desirable.
-Basic exposure to ASPICE processes such as SYS.1, SYS.2, SYS.3, SWE.1, traceability, reviews, baselining, and compliance evidence preparation.
-Awareness of ISO 26262 functional safety lifecycle, safety requirements, hazard analysis inputs, and safety impact assessment will be an added advantage.
-Ability to support Agile or V-model delivery environments and collaborate with distributed offshore, onsite, OEM, and supplier teams.
