Description
Pay: $24.00–$25.00 per hour | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
Overtime & Weekends: Occasional, based on business needs
Employment Type: Full-Time
- Manage ocean export shipments from booking through vessel departure.
- Coordinate bookings with ocean carriers and NVOCCs.
- Confirm sailing schedules, routing, cutoffs, and equipment availability.
- Coordinate with truckers, warehouses, terminals, steamship lines, overseas offices, and customers.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or service issues.
- Provide customers with shipment status and documentation updates.
- Prepare and review Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Export Declarations, Shipping Instructions, and supporting export documents.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and assist with invoicing and file closeout.
- Ensure shipments meet customer, carrier, and destination-country requirements.
- Proven hands-on ocean export experience – required.
- 3+ years of ocean freight-forwarding or international logistics experience.
- Experience managing ocean export shipments from booking through departure.
- Strong knowledge of ocean export documentation and procedures.
- Experience working with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, truckers, terminals, and overseas offices.
- Knowledge of Incoterms.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience with freight-forwarding/logistics systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, accounts, and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of FMC regulations and export compliance.
- Experience with Japan trade lanes or overseas offices.
- Hazardous cargo experience.
- High-volume international freight-forwarding experience.
