Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position:
Financial qualification with strong post-qualification experience, combined with deep, hands-on knowledge of the renewable energy sector and demonstrated expertise in complex financial modelling, including DCF models and project finance modules
M&A transaction experience, with exposure to leading deals on both buy-side and sell-side, and familiarity with deal structuring, transaction agreements, and project financing, either as a principal or strategic advisor
End-to-end transaction management capability, with demonstrated ability to manage complex M&A transactions from strategy and deal planning through execution, coordinating multiple advisers (lawyers, transaction support providers) to drive value and deliver service excellence
Exceptional leadership and business development skills, with proven ability to identify and originate opportunities, mentor and coach team members to their highest potential, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and work both independently and collaboratively
What type of work will I be doing?
Advise on M&A strategy and deal planning, helping renewable energy businesses and assets prepare for sale, and assisting clients in developing comprehensive transaction strategies aligned to their strategic objectives
Contribute to identifying and originating M&A opportunities, working with the team to leverage sector knowledge and spot strategic transactions and business development opportunities that create value for clients
Lead end-to-end transaction execution on both buy-side and sell-side deals, managing the full lifecycle from initial strategy through close, including deal structuring and negotiation of transaction agreements
Advise on specialist transaction areas, including deal structuring, project financing, and financial model assumptions specific to renewable energy assets, leveraging your sector expertise to identify risks and opportunities
Coordinate and manage multiple advisers, working with lawyers, transaction support providers, and other specialists to ensure seamless execution, drive value, and deliver exceptional client outcomes
Build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating service excellence, clear communication, and strategic insight to position Deloitte as the trusted advisor for renewable energy M&A
As the team grows, mentor and develop team members, actively coaching junior colleagues to their highest potential and contributing to the growth and success of the M&A Advisory practice
