Description
We are looking for a Licensed Customs Broker to join our team. Our AI agents prepare, audit, and file declarations every day — and every one of those decisions has to be right. You'll be the person who decides what "right" means and holds the line on accuracy as we scale.
You'll sit with engineering and product, translate CBP requirements and real broker judgment into agent behavior. If you've spent years watching brokerage software fail at the parts that actually matter, this is the seat where you get to fix it.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Reform's in-house authority on customs regulation, classification, valuation, and entry requirements.
- Encode broker judgment into our offerings: HTS classification logic, duty calculation, PGA requirements, entry validation, and more.
- Review and audit agent output against CBP standards; own the accuracy bar and the escalation rules for when agents loop a human.
- Partner with engineering and product to design experiences that hold up under real brokerage volume.
- Keep the team current on regulatory changes and trade remedies.
Qualifications
- Active US Customs Broker License.
- 5+ years hands-on brokerage experience — you've filed entries, not just supervised people who do.
- Deep working knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, ACE, PGA filings, and entry types beyond the standard 01.
- Comfort being the last word on a hard call, and the judgment to know when a call is genuinely hard.
- Strong written communication — much of this job is making tacit expertise explicit enough for a system to execute.
- Interest in AI and automation, and no attachment to how it's always been done.
- Preferred: experience at a high-volume brokerage or forwarder, exposure to duty drawback, FTZ, or reconciliation programs, or prior work with brokerage software teams.
Why join us
- Build the compliance foundation for how customs declarations get prepared at scale.
- Work directly with the founders on a product where your domain expertise is core input, not a review step.
- Your judgment ships — the decisions you make show up in thousands of filings a month.
- Real exposure to the technical side; you'll leave knowing far more about AI systems than you do today.
- Travel to customer sites and industry events.
- Benefits: daily dinners, travel stipend, comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance.
