Licensed Customs Broker

Position Summary

An international logistics company in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Customs Broker to join its team.

This position is responsible for ensuring customs clearance and related import/export activities are handled accurately and in full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Classify imported goods in accordance with the HTSUS
• Utilize ACE Portal for applicable functions such as AES filings, protests, and other regulatory activities
• Maintain compliance with U.S. customs laws and regulations
• Communicate with CBP and other government agencies, including FDA and USDA
• Oversee CTPAT procedures and TSA requirements
• Advise clients and internal teams on customs-related matters
• Review and maintain customs documentation and records
• Train and mentor junior operations and import team members
• Stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends

Qualifications / Requirements

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a customs brokerage or freight forwarding role
• Strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, and country-of-origin rules
• Familiarity with ACE Portal, CTPAT, TSA documentation, and other customs software platforms
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
