Overview:
This opening is for the Digital Engineering Methods, Process, and Adoption (DEMPA) team at Collins Aerospace, focused on advancing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices. The role requires a total of 3 to 7 years of experience in cyber-physical system modeling with expertise in tools such as Cameo, MATLAB, and Simulink. Candidates will contribute to the implementation of Digital Engineering capabilities, including the Digital Thread, to enable end-to-end lifecycle integration, enhance model-based architectures, and drive innovation through advanced system modeling and simulation.
Domain Knowledge & Skills:
- Experienced in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, methodologies, and workflows.
- Proficient in functional and logical decomposition of systems and development of requirements.
- Skilled in transitioning from document-based to model-based architectures.
- Implemented model-based architecture and engineering methods and standards.
- Understanding of Digital Thread concepts to improve cross-discipline data integration and collaboration.
- Critical thinker with decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in system architecture and requirement modeling using SysML language and tools like Cameo or similar platforms.
- Proficient in integrating models for requirements management, change management, version control, and traceability.
- Experienced in MATLAB/Simulink and scripting using MATLAB.
- Hands-on experience with requirement management and test management tools is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.Tech/M.Tech (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Computer Science or Equivalent) with 3-7 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
- Strong experience in SysML modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Experience in Verification & Validation.
- Knowledge of ARP 4754, DO-178C, and DO-331 standards will be an added advantage.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Understand customer requirements and specifications thoroughly.
- Decompose system-level requirements to subsystem and component levels.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and project leads for Requirements and Architecture Modeling using SysML with Cameo.
- Incorporate Digital Thread methodologies to enhance model traceability and lifecycle integration.
- Prepare technical and business proposals for advanced methods development.
- Mentor junior team members and lead assigned projects effectively.
- Execute projects with a focus on delivering results within cost, schedule, and quality constraints.
- Support the creation of Standard Works, Lessons Learned documents, and checklists for continuous improvement.
