About the Role

Join the Bowel Health Service within the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer and contribute to impactful, grant-funded research focused on gastrointestinal health and colorectal cancer prevention. Working closely with researchers, clinicians, industry partners and study participants, you will provide a mix of laboratory, administrative and clinical trial support to help deliver high-quality research outcomes that improve patient care and health outcomes.

  • Support clinical and laboratory research activities, including the collection, processing, packaging and shipment of biological samples in accordance with study protocols.

  • Conduct laboratory procedures and maintain accurate research records, databases and documentation to ensure data integrity and compliance.

  • Assist with participant engagement and study coordination activities, including obtaining consent, responding to enquiries, preparing study materials and liaising with clinical stakeholders.

  • Contribute to research administration and outputs by supporting ethics submissions, governance reporting, data analysis, publications and presentations.

By supporting innovative gastrointestinal health and colorectal cancer prevention research, this role helps generate evidence, advance clinical practice, and improve health outcomes for communities locally and globally.

About You

You are a proactive and detail-oriented research professional with a strong foundation in health or laboratory sciences and a passion for contributing to meaningful health research. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you bring excellent organisational skills, scientific rigour and a collaborative approach to supporting research projects from data collection through to reporting and publication.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • A relevant qualification in health or laboratory sciences, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

  • Demonstrated laboratory and technical skills, with sound knowledge of research methods and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong organisational, computing and data management skills, including experience working with databases and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, clinicians and stakeholders while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
