This highly influential role will serve as the executive communications lead for two leaders - our Chief Technology & Development Officer, and our EVP, AI Acceleration, Product & Design. As Senior Director, Executive Communications and Strategy, you’ll serve as both storyteller and strategic advisor, helping define external and internal narratives that inspire and connect our global tech and product strategies to the broader enterprise, and elevate Walmart’s reputation as one of the most innovative companies in the world.

The Tech & Product Communications team at Walmart leads strategic storytelling and executive engagement to connect global technology and product initiatives with the broader enterprise. This team supports senior leaders by crafting clear, impactful narratives that enhance Walmart’s reputation as an innovative company. Members collaborate across functions to develop and implement communication strategies, manage media relations, and drive thought leadership. The team fosters a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data and insights to optimize messaging and engagement. It plays a critical role in shaping internal and external communications that advance business goals and strengthen stakeholder relationships worldwide.

What you'll do...

• Lead executive communications strategy for Walmart’s Global Tech and Product leadership—crafting speeches, presentations, messaging, and social content that bring Walmart’s vision for technology, AI, and product innovation to life.
• Serve as a strategic counselor to senior executives, helping them define their voice, shape priorities, and communicate with purpose and authenticity.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling stories that connect with associates, partners, and global audiences.
• Lead and develop a content team focused on strategic tech/product communications, executive content, and special initiatives.
• Develop event and visibility strategies that amplify key leaders on global stages—defining messages and formats that resonate with internal and external audiences.

What you'll bring:

• Are a trusted strategic advisor who can translate complex business and tech topics into stories people want to read and share.
• Are a storyteller and strategist in one—equally comfortable writing, coaching, planning, and influencing.
• Have experience in tech communications or product storytelling—in-house or agency—with a background writing for senior executives.
• Can build relationships across functions and influence without authority, bringing teams together around a shared story.
• Thrive in fast-paced environments, balance multiple priorities, and stay calm under pressure.

Bentonville, Arkansas US-30011: The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00
San Bruno, California US-08848: The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00 - $338,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or related field and 6 years’ experience in journalism, communications, or relevant area OR 8 years’ experience in journalism, communications, or relevant area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
