Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Mumbai

Employment Type: full-time

The job

In this role, you will be responsible for power system modeling, engineering analysis, real-time power system applications, ADMS/OMS, power automation, project engineering, testing, and commissioning. You will develop and validate electrical network models, perform static and dynamic power system studies, configure real-time applications using field data, and support integration with SCADA, DCS, IEDs, gateways, and external systems.

The role also involves preparing technical and project documentation, coordinating with customers and multidisciplinary teams, leading or supporting FAT and SAT activities, troubleshooting system and communication issues, demonstrating application functionalities, and conducting customer training.

Key responsibilities

Develop, validate, maintain, and update electrical network models and digital twins using ETAP or equivalent power system analysis platforms.
* Perform power system studies including Load Flow, Short-Circuit, Protection/Relay Coordination, Harmonic Analysis, Transient Stability, Motor Acceleration, Voltage Stability, Arc Flash, and related studies.
* Review SLDs, equipment data, protection settings, network parameters, and operating philosophies; analyze study results and prepare engineering reports with recommendations. 
* Configure and commission real-time power system applications using live field measurements, equipment status, and operational data.
* Configure and validate State & Load Estimation (SLE), network topology processing, observability, bad-data handling, and online power system analysis.
* Map and validate analog, digital, status, command, and calculated signals from SCADA/DCS/IED/gateway systems and troubleshoot model/data mismatches. 
* Model and analyze distribution networks and configure ADMS functions including distribution load flow, state estimation, FLISR, switching analysis, Voltage/VAR Optimization (VVO), and network reconfiguration.
* Support Outage Management System (OMS) configuration, network tracing, outage identification, restoration workflows, and integration with SCADA, GIS, and enterprise systems. 
* Engineer and configure power automation and SCADA interfaces, including points/tags, alarms, events, trends, measurements, statuses, commands, and HMI functions.
* Configure and troubleshoot communication using protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA/DA, and ICCP/TASE.2.
* Support integration of IEDs, RTUs, PLCs, gateways, managed switches, and control-center interfaces. 
* Perform basic IT/OT system and network configuration, including servers/workstations, IP addressing, managed switches, VLANs, remote access, redundancy, and connectivity troubleshooting.
* Prepare FAT/SAT procedures and lead or participate in internal testing, FAT, integration testing, site commissioning, SAT, and functional demonstrations.
* Investigate technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, close test observations and punch points, and support customer acceptance. 
* Plan and monitor project engineering activities, schedules, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and technical interfaces.
* Prepare and review FDS, architecture documents, signal lists, interface documents, study reports, test procedures, commissioning records, user manuals, and as-built documentation.
* Coordinate with project management, engineering teams, software teams, vendors, EPC contractors, consultants, and customers. 
* Prepare and deliver customer training covering system architecture, power system applications, operational workflows, troubleshooting, and routine system operation.
* Support technical knowledge transfer and mentor junior engineers where required.

Essential requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in power system studies, real-time power system applications, ADMS/SCADA, power automation, or related project engineering.
* Hands-on experience in electrical network modeling and power system analysis.
* Working knowledge of real-time power system applications, SCADA, communication protocols, and IT/OT environments.
* Experience in FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning, technical documentation, and customer interaction.
* Industry exposure in Oil & Gas, Industrial, Utilities / Transmission & Distribution, or Power Generation; Renewable/BESS experience is an advantage.
* Professional written and spoken English.
* Willingness to travel and mobilize to project sites within the GCC, including onshore/offshore locations and extended site stays when required.
