Job Description:
About the role:
The HR Operations Team Lead at PES India is a key delivery role within the HR function, responsible for executing and overseeing the day-to-day HR operations processes that keep the employee lifecycle running accurately and on time — from Day 1 to exit. This role ensures that the operational heartbeat of HR is consistent, compliant, and employee-centric.
We are looking for a detail-obsessed, process-driven, and dependable HR Ops Team Lead who can own their workstreams end-to-end, support and guide junior team members, and serve as the first point of operational escalation within the team. This role works closely with the HR Ops Assistant Manager and Manager, the HRBP, Finance, and external vendors to deliver seamless HR operations for our 700+ employees.
What you will do at PES India:
Employee Lifecycle Management
Execute and oversee end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle — onboarding, confirmations, transfers, promotions, role changes, and exits — ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every stage
Coordinate weekly induction logistics and ensure every new joiner has a smooth Day 1 — system access, documentation, and orientation completed before they arrive
Manage the offboarding process — exit documentation, clearance coordination, full and final settlement inputs, and real-time HRMS updates
Prepare and issue all HR letters — offer, confirmation, transfer, promotion, and exit — with accuracy and turnaround speed
Coordinate background verification (BGV) with vendors and ensure timely, accurate completion for all new joiners
HR Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate, audit-ready employee records across both physical and digital systems
Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable statutory requirements; flag gaps proactively to the Assistant Manager
Support internal and external HR audits with well-organised documentation and trackers
Assist in updating HR policy documents and process SOPs as directed by the HR leadership
Payroll & Attendance Support
Compile and validate monthly payroll inputs — attendance, leaves, shift data, arrears, and variable pay — and share with the payroll processing team on time, every cycle
Track leave balances, attendance records, and shift schedules; resolve discrepancies before they become payroll errors
Coordinate with Finance and the payroll vendor to ensure smooth monthly cycles; flag exceptions and unresolved issues to the Assistant Manager
Benefits Administration
Manage the end-to-end medical insurance process — enrolments, additions, deletions, claim coordination, and annual renewal support
Administer other employee benefits including shift allowances, weekend allowances, and any other applicable benefits programmes
Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefit queries; resolve with speed and clarity; escalate complex cases appropriately
Coordinate with benefits vendors — track SLAs, follow up on pending items, and flag performance issues to the Assistant Manager
HRIS & Data Management
Ensure all employee data in Workday is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organisational standards always
Prepare standard HR reports, MIS dashboards, and data extracts for the HR team and leadership — on time and in the right format
Identify opportunities to improve data quality and reporting processes; flag automation or efficiency ideas to the Assistant Manager
Maintain strict adherence to data privacy, confidentiality, and information security requirements
Employee Query Management
Respond to employee queries on HR policies, processes, benefits, and documentation — promptly, accurately, and with a helpful tone
Maintain a query log to track recurring themes and surface them to the HRBP or Assistant Manager for policy-level intervention
Support HR initiatives, engagement activities, and culture programmes with operational and logistical coordination
Team Support & Process Oversight
Guide and support junior HR Ops team members on day-to-day execution – reviewing their work, answering process queries, and ensuring quality and consistency
Serve as the first point of escalation within the team for operational issues before they are raised to the Assistant Manager
Contribute to process documentation, SOP maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the HR Ops function
What we are looking for:
Must-have
6–10 years of experience in HR Operations or an HR generalist role with strong ops exposure
Hands-on experience managing employee lifecycle processes end-to-end — with a track record of ownership, not just support
Proficiency in Workday — prior experience with HCM, Absence, and Reporting modules strongly preferred
Strong MS Office skills — especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation) and PowerPoint
Experience coordinating payroll inputs and benefits administration
Working knowledge of Indian statutory compliance requirements — PF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH, Shops & Establishment Act
High attention to detail — someone who finds errors before anyone else does
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Good to have
Experience working in a GCC, shared services, or fast-paced multinational environment
Exposure to ServiceNow or a ticketing / query management system
Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Prior experience supporting or guiding junior team members
Education
MBA/PGDM in HR (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree with strong relevant experience will also be considered
