Overview
The Lead MEP Engineer will act as the Consultant's representative on-site, leading and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) supervision activities for large-scale buildings, mixed-use developments, and theme park projects. The role is responsible for ensuring that all MEP works are executed in accordance with the contract requirements, approved designs, quality standards, project schedules, and regulatory requirements while coordinating with multidisciplinary stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Your role
- Lead the site supervision of all MEP works including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, and specialist systems.
- Ensure contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project standards.
- Manage and coordinate MEP interfaces with architectural, structural, fit-out, and themed attraction works.
- Review and provide technical comments on shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and design changes.
- Monitor construction progress and identify potential risks impacting cost, quality, or schedule.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure works comply with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Lead testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover activities.
- Coordinate closely with contractors, specialist vendors, ride suppliers, and themed entertainment contractors.
- Review contractor claims, variation orders, and progress reports.
- Verify completed works and provide recommendations for payment certifications.
- Ensure implementation of QA/QC procedures and HSE requirements across all MEP activities.
- Attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings and provide technical leadership on project delivery matters.
- Support Resident Engineer and Project Director in managing project objectives and resolving technical challenges.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in MEP engineering and construction supervision.
- Minimum 5 years in a Lead MEP Engineer role on major building developments.
- Proven experience in mixed-use developments, high-rise buildings, hospitality, entertainment destinations, and theme park projects.
- Strong knowledge of building services systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, ICT, security, and BMS systems.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary MEP teams within a consultancy-led site supervision environment.
- Strong understanding of international building codes, industry standards, and Saudi regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, BIM platforms, and project management software.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience on major KSA giga-projects and large-scale mixed-use developments.
- Experience in theme parks, entertainment venues, visitor attractions, resorts, hotels, retail districts, and leisure developments.
- Familiarity with complex themed environments, show buildings, attraction facilities, and specialty MEP systems.
- Prior experience working with international engineering consultancy firms.
