About The Opportunity

It is the responsibility of the Shipping Coordinator to make sure all shipping information is accurate before the loading of any trucks in accordance to all GMP's and internal SOP's, and to ensure all trucks are enter and leave the facility in a timely manner to prevent any detention charges.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Maintains sign-in / sign-out log.
  • Confirms appointment numbers, shipping numbers, shipping times, carrier, and destination based off of shipping log.
  • Assigns dock doors to all inbound and outbound loads.
  • Confirms all loads are being shipped to customer guidelines (Example temp tales, freight watch, multi stop loads, proper labels and placards, Reefer trailers set to the proper temperature).
  • Works directly with Quality Associate to make sure seals are applied to the truck and BOL's are signed.
  • Checks all BOL's for accuracy, return signed BOL's to the inventory department.
  • Ensures that we are maintaining a safe clean work environment.
  • Follows-up to make sure trucks are getting in and out in a timely manner to avoids detention charges.
  • Ensures trailer is loaded to customer specifications. (Example, double stackable, non-stackable, airbags, load bars, straps, etc)
  • Prints shipping schedule for the following shift. Confirms that all trucks shipping from the following shift are staged damage free and accurately.
  • Reports all discrepancies with outbound loads, such as refusals, no shows, hold, block, and quarantine.

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
  • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components
  • Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
  • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent walking/standing required

Pay

  • This is a salaried (non-exempt) position and is eligible for overtime.
  • The expected salary for this position is $45,000 annually plus overtime pay. Compensation for this role will vary based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short- and Long-term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
