Senior Director of Mental Health Services
Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton/Hybrid
Recovery Resource Council is seeking an experienced clinical leader to serve as the Senior Director of Mental Health Services. This is a newly created leadership position supporting the establishment of RRC’s new Mental Health Services Department, which will bring existing mental health programs currently located across multiple departments together under one department. The Senior Director will lead this transition while providing clinical and administrative leadership, strengthening program operations, supporting staff and program development, and advancing quality and strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the successful establishment and transition of existing mental health programs into RRC’s newly established Mental Health Services Department.
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership across mental health programs in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Denton.
• Supervise Master Level Enduring Families Counselors, the Director of Equine-Assisted Mental Health, and the Assistant Director of Mental Health Services, while providing clinical oversight to department clinicians.
• Lead Clinical Consultation and implementation of agency suicide prevention and critical incident protocols.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, regulatory standards, contractual requirements, grant expectations, and clinical standards.
• Support departmental performance, quality improvement, strategic planning, budget development, fiscal oversight, and program development.
• Contribute clinical expertise to grant proposals and strengthen relationships with community partners and referral sources.
Skills/Requirements, Competencies, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
• Advanced clinical knowledge and leadership in trauma-informed, client-centered mental health services.
• Strong clinical supervision, staff development, mentorship, and program leadership skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards, Joint Commission requirements, contractual requirements, grant expectations, and clinical documentation practices.
• Experience managing multiple programs, priorities, deadlines, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with staff, leadership, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, problem-solving, and crisis response skills.
• Ability to lead organizational change and successfully transition existing programs into a newly established department.
• Ability to support departmental budget development, fiscal oversight, and program development.
• Ability to use data and quality improvement processes to support program effectiveness and accountability.
• Reliable transportation, current Texas-required liability insurance, and ability to travel between Fort Worth, Dallas, and Denton campuses.
• Flexible schedule, including occasional evening or weekend work, as needed.
Education & Experience:
• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field required.
• Full, active Texas licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW required.
• Minimum of five years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
