Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be capable of completing all safety requirements and procedures independently and without prompting.

• Must hold a current NFPA 70E certification and demonstrate consistent compliance with arc flash procedures.

• Must be capable of receiving direction from the leadership team and advising if direction appears incorrect.

• Must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated to identify and complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.

• Must communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers regarding job status, parts requirements, and safety concerns.

• Must be capable of defining the root cause of basic electrical problems and communicating findings to supervision.

• Must assist with training 3rd Class Electricians in hand skills, safety, and basic procedures under direction.

• Must maintain high housekeeping standards and set the example for junior classifications.

• Must complete and update all assigned work orders in the CMMS (Limble) system accurately and on time.

Technical Skills

• Must be proficient in all M-5 3rd Class Electrical skills.

• Must be capable of independently installing EMT, rigid metallic conduit (RMC), PVC conduit, and liquidtight flexible conduit (Sealtite) including all fittings, couplings, and terminations.

• Must be capable of sizing and installing junction boxes, pull boxes, and wiring enclosures per NEC requirements.

• Must understand and work safely within motor control circuits: identify and describe the function of starters, contactors, overload relays, and control transformers.

• Must be capable of performing basic motor replacements and reconnections (line voltage and control wiring) under direct supervision of a 1st Class Electrician or higher.

• Must be capable of troubleshooting basic motor circuit faults: blown fuses, tripped overload relays, open control circuits, and failed contactors.

• Must demonstrate understanding of 480V three-phase power systems and work safely within those systems under direct supervision, following all arc flash procedures.

• Must read and interpret motor control schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardwired ladder diagrams with proficiency.

• Must demonstrate basic knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC): grounding, bonding, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection, and conduit fill.

• Must understand the purpose and basic operation of variable frequency drives (VFDs): identify drive components, read fault codes, and perform manual start/stop from a drive keypad.

• Must identify and document electrical circuit information in the CMMS system for all assets worked on.

• Must perform all LOTO procedures fully and independently; capable of establishing and verifying zero-energy states on assigned equipment.

 Required to take Electrical Test on site with a required score of 80%+

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Electrical Training Certificates requested

Additional Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

(If a degree is required it must be from an accredited institution)

• Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience is a plus
