Be Caring is the UK's largest employee-owned social care provider, where colleagues are co-owners working together to make a real difference in people's lives and communities.
We're looking for a confident, engaging and organised Recruitment Officer to join our Sheffield team - someone who shares our values, thrives on building relationships and wants to play a key role in growing a team that genuinely changes lives.
This is a varied, people-facing role at the heart of our local service. You'll be the person who finds, attracts and welcomes the values-driven colleagues who deliver outstanding care across Sheffield - and you'll be instrumental in helping us maintain and build on our strong reputation as an employer.
About the Role
As a Recruitment Officer, you'll be a skilled and engaging communicator - promoting Be Caring locally, building partnerships and pathways into employment, and ensuring our recruitment is efficient, compliant and values-led from start to finish.
You'll work closely with the Sheffield management team and our central recruitment team, with the autonomy to shape how we attract and onboard great people in the area.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting and Supporting Colleagues
- Screen applicants and interview people who have the right values and can meet the needs of the people we support
- Promote job opportunities and build partnerships with local organisations, employment preperation schemes and local authority partners
- Raise our profile across Sheffield through social media, community events, job fairs and promoting our Refer a Friend scheme
- Complete onboarding calls with new starters, raising and resolving concerns early to support retention and care continuity
Managing Recruitment Compliance
- Maintain recruitment files to ensure compliance with Be Caring standards, CQC requirements and safe recruitment legislation
- Check and verify all required documents, including DBS, Right to Work, references and risk assessments
- Work with the central recruitment and local management teams to highlight risks and share information
Administration
- Manage applicants on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), keeping records accurate and up to date
- Add new colleagues to our care system promptly and maintain recruitment trackers
- Record onboarding calls are report risks as appropriate
What We're Looking For
- A confident, engaging communicator who can inspire and connect with people from all walks of life
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills - you'll be managing multiple vacancies and candidates at once
- Experience of social media, marketing or external promotion (desirable)
- A values-driven approach - you'll be the first impression of Be Caring for many candidates, so embodying what we stand for matters
Experience in recruitment is welcome but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, your communication skills and your genuine belief in the importance of great care.
Professional Development
We're committed to the personal and professional growth of every colleague. You'll be supported by the Sheffield Service Manager and the central recruitment team, with access to career development pathways, supported learning and accredited qualifications through apprenticeship programmes.
We actively encourage progression within the organisation - and we'll give you the tools, resources and support you need to Be the Best You Can Be.
Why Be Caring?
When you join Be Caring, you become part of a values-led organisation built on Be Kind, Be Proud, Be the Best You Can Be, Be Safe, Be Happy and Be Involved.
We focus on kindness, respect and inclusion, and we're as committed to supporting our colleagues as we are to supporting the people we care for.
Benefits
- Annual leave: 33 days (inclusive of bank holidays)
- Mileage: 50p per mile
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): 24/7 support for you and your dependants
- Long service awards, Above & Beyond recognition, birthday voucher and annual Christmas bonus
