Barrios Technology is seeking a Data Analytics Developer to join our team in support of NASA programs and internal business operations. This is an early career role for a quantitatively strong analyst with a background in mathematics and data science who can turn raw data into clear, decision ready insight. The Data Analytics Developer will build and improve Business Intelligence dashboards, automate manual reporting workflows using Python and data preparation tools, and present findings to stakeholders and leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong statistical and analytical fundamentals, proven experience converting and validating analytical workflows, and the communication skills to explain results to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
Responsibilities
The Data Analytics Developer will:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance BI dashboards and reports that visualize operational and business trends, including filtering and drill-through functionality that lets decisionmakers explore data at multiple levels.
- Query and extract data from SQL database tables and other enterprise sources to fulfill business requests.
- Create recurring and ad-hoc reports within required timeframes using SQL, Excel, Power BI, and Python; analyze and validate data to ensure the accuracy and integrity of critical business information.
- Automate manual and repetitive reporting processes using Python (Jupyter), Alteryx, or similar tools, documenting logic and code thoroughly for long-term maintainability.
- Migrate or re-engineer existing analytical workflows and queries to more efficient platforms, validating results against legacy outputs to ensure consistency.
- Provide quantitative and statistical analysis, trending, and metrics for key strategic initiatives to measure the potential impact of new projects.
- Analyze data correlations, discrepancies, and reconciliations and communicate the related impact to the business.
- Synthesize business intelligence and trend data into clear recommendations for action.
- Present findings, process improvements, and recommendations to peers, program leadership, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with internal teams to streamline and standardize existing reports and find ways to work more efficiently.
- Build reporting tools that help operational users carry out day-to-day responsibilities.
- Track and document post implementation benefits and key objective measures.
- Organize data sources and ensure data integrity and relevancy.
- Partner with Program, Operations, and Engineering teams to gather requirements, solve problems, and identify trends and opportunities.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- BS or BA degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or anticipated degree by December 2026, from an accredited college or university.
- Hands-on experience designing and building data visualizations and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis (pandas, Jupyter Notebook, or similar).
- Strong foundation in numerical, statistical, and mathematical analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Detail oriented; places a high value on accuracy, consistency, and completeness of work, including validating analytical results.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting analytical findings to leadership and stakeholders.
- Proven logical and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter, results oriented, and comfortable working independently and on cross-functional teams.
Preferences:
- Internship or professional experience in a data analyst or business intelligence role.
- Experience with Alteryx or other data preparation and ETL tools.
- Experience converting, automating, or re-engineering analytical workflows.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred) for querying and data manipulation.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Macros, VBA, Charts and Graphs).
- Familiarity with MS SSRS, Sisense, or Salesforce reporting.
- Coursework or experience in physics, engineering, or other technical disciplines relevant to aerospace programs.
- Demonstrated leadership experience (student organizations, team leadership, or similar).
- Strong inductive reasoning skills: the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
Essential Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Work may involve sitting for extended periods.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
- Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
- Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
