P2Job Summary
The Specialist Customer Support (SCS) – Military Channel is an entry-to-early career role designed to develop future Customer Sales Representatives (CSR/CDM) for Tyson’s Military business.
This position provides critical support to Tyson’s military customer base, including DeCA, AAFES, and Hawaii retail, while building foundational skills in pricing, promotions, customer management, and order-to-cash execution.
The role serves as a key partner to Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, providing hands-on experience in customer operations and exposure to the full business cycle. High-performing individuals in this role will develop the capabilities required to advance into frontline sales and customer leadership positions within the Military channel.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Development (Pipeline Focus)
Support Customer Development Managers (CDMs) in execution across DeCA, AAFES, and Hawaii retail
Assist in preparing customer-facing materials including pricing updates, promotional plans, and performance scorecards
Build foundational understanding of customer strategies, category dynamics, and military channel requirements
Participate in internal and customer meetings to gain exposure to sales planning and execution
Order-to-Cash Fundamentals
Maintain pricing, promotions, and deductions in system(s), including DeCA scan-downs and distributor programs
Support invoice accuracy and payment processes across customers and distributors
Assist with trade planning and forecasting coordination to ensure alignment with financial execution
Deductions & Issue Resolution
Investigate basic customer deductions and discrepancies, escalating as needed
Learn root cause identification and resolution processes for payment issues
Support tracking of open liabilities and assist in maintaining compliance with Tyson policies
Systems, Data & Process Learning
Develop working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and customer systems
Maintain accurate data across pricing, promotions, and customer records
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
Cross-Functional Exposure
Partner with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer teams to understand business processes
Support ad hoc analysis and reporting (team scorecards, pricing reviews, promotional tracking)
Build business acumen across key operational and financial workflows

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Requires education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and or college courses.
Experience:
3 plus years work experience.
Experience in customer support, sales support, operations, finance, or supply chain preferred
Computer Skills:
Standard computer skills Microsoft Applications, Excel Power Point, Microsoft Outlook.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Travel: 3-6 domestic trips per year

Strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and identify issues
Strong communication skills and willingness to engage with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Curiosity, learning agility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Internship or early career exposure to CPG, retail, or customer-facing roles is a plus
