The IHC Corporate team in Indianapolis is now recruiting for an experienced HR Generalist. The HR Generalist manages multiple priorities such as HR-related payroll functions, leave of absence and benefits administration, and full-cycle recruitment. The HR Generalist also ensures compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, aligns IHC’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan with their role responsibilities, and serves as a trusted partner to IHC staff and managers.

HR Generalist role responsibilities include:
- Assists with the coordination of annual open enrollment.
- Counsels employees on benefit offerings.
- Navigates employee benefit coverage issues as needed.
- Provides confidential, professional responses to employee inquiries.
- Supports managers in crafting disciplinary and performance-enhancement strategies.
- Engages in policy and SOP development.
- Creates and updates job descriptions that resonate with IHC’s mission and legal standards.
- Provides advanced support for our HRIS system.
- Leads the charge in digital transformation, cutting paper trails, and automating processes.
- Suggests, initiates and implements process enhancements.
- Collaborates with Chief HR Officer and HR Coordinator to create and manage job postings, conduct candidate screenings, complete job offer calls with candidates, and coordinate New Employee Orientation (NEO) attendance.
- Assists and attend job fairs and recruitment events.
- Tracks and reports on HR metrics.
Required skills:
- Proficiency in working with cloud-based payroll and human management software (HCM).
- Strong technology skills to streamline processes to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Knowledgeable in full lifecycle recruitment and Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Service-oriented and collaborative approach and is skilled in follow-up tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly meticulous with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- High level of experience with Paylocity HRIS.
Requirements
Required:
- At least 2 years of HR experience, including payroll functions, leave of absence management, and benefits administration.
- At least 1 year of administrative-level Paylocity experience.
- Valid Indiana driver's license and ability to travel to IHC locations as needed (15-20%).
Preferred:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
- Spanish communication skills.
- SHRM or HRCI certification.
