Location: York
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Job Type: Full Time or Part Time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking to join a modern and supportive accountancy practice where you'll have the flexibility to manage your workload, build strong client relationships and become a valued member of the team?
An established accountancy practice in York is looking to recruit a Bookkeeper to support its continued growth and provide high-quality bookkeeping services to a varied client base.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, has strong attention to detail and is looking for a role offering flexibility, support and long-term development.
The Role
Working within the bookkeeping team, you'll be responsible for supporting a portfolio of clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing bookkeeping services for a variety of clients

Maintaining accurate financial records
-
Processing purchase and sales invoices
-
Completing bank reconciliations
-
Preparing bookkeeping information for accounts and tax work

Supporting clients with bookkeeping queries

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Working closely with the wider practice team
About You
You'll ideally have previous bookkeeping experience, either within an accountancy practice or a similar client-focused environment.
You'll have:

Previous bookkeeping experience

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good knowledge of accounting systems and processes

Excellent communication skills

The ability to manage your own workload effectively

Working Pattern & Benefits
The firm offers a flexible approach to working, including:

Hybrid working with 1 day per week working from home

Part-time hours considered for the right candidate

Flexible working hours, with core hours between 10am and 4pm

Ability to start and finish flexibly between 7am and 6pm, provided contracted hours are completed
