The role - Assistant Quality Manager

Quality Management & Compliance: Developing an understanding of the robust standards that drive our product integrity, you will be at the forefront of maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS). You will ensure food safety, regulatory compliance, product quality, and consumer satisfaction across the factory while fostering a strong quality culture throughout the organization.

What you’ll be responsible for:

1. Quality Management Systems & Food Safety: Establishing, implementing, and continuously improving QMS in line with FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and corporate standards. You will drive external certifications, regulatory inspections, and ensure compliance with all legal and customer requirements.

2. Product Quality Assurance: Developing robust systems for raw material approval, process control, and product release. You will monitor quality performance indicators, approve SOPs, and ensure timely investigation and closure of consumer complaints and non-conformities.

3. Laboratory Management: Managing chemical, microbiological, and analytical laboratories to ensure accurate testing. You will ensure labs are equipped with appropriate instruments, calibration systems, and skilled personnel while maintaining compliance with internal and external standards.

4. Risk Management & Operational Excellence: Identifying food safety risks and establishing effective monitoring mechanisms. You will lead quality improvement projects (ICMS Quality pillar) aimed at reducing defects and waste, conduct root cause analyses, and monitor key KPIs such as DPMU and Right First Time.

5. Capability Building & Leadership: Developing site-wide quality training programs to build employee competence. You will coach and mentor cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Supply Chain) and build a high-performing quality team through effective performance management.

We’re looking for

1. Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, or a related discipline (a Master's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Quality Management is an added advantage).

2. 8-10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety within FMCG, Foods, Dairy, Beverage, Frozen Foods, or Food Processing industries.

3. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing quality teams in a manufacturing environment.

4. Certifications in HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or Lead Auditor are highly preferred.

5. Strong technical fundamentals in GMP, GHP, Microbiology, Food Chemistry, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA Management.

6. Proven experience in audit management, laboratory operations, regulatory compliance (including liaising with FSSAI and Legal Metrology), and quality systems implementation.

7. Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and team leadership skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

8. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to influence and coach cross-functional teams.
