Pratt & Whitney Puerto Rico (PWPR) Auxiliary Power Units (APU) Engineering is seeking a Design Engineer to support APU and Turbojet (TJ) programs across Pratt & Whitney. The PWPR APU Engineering team provides Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and Product Definition services for APU and TJ products in military and commercial programs across all lifecycle phases, from Development through Production and Sustainment. Additionally, the PWPR APU Engineering team supports these engineering services for all hardware within the APU and TJ programs, exposing our engineers to all types of hardware. As a Design Engineer on our team, you will be involved in various design activities related to APU and TJ programs for military and commercial applications. Activities include providing engineering support for quality notifications, providing guidance for supplier technical inquiries, engineering changes, and supporting supplier transitions. This role is a great opportunity to join a highly collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment where your ideas can have real influence on hardware decisions and solve production issues. Our team offers a unique opportunity to work with a wide range of APU and Turbojet components, enabling you to rapidly grow your technical depth while making a visible impact across multiple engine programs. If you’re looking for a place where engineers are empowered, cross functional learning is encouraged, and innovation directly impacts our company’s ability to meet customer requirements, we’d love to have you on board.

Interpret and define tolerances and features in part drawings. Develop and incorporate new ways to advance technology and improve processes as an individual and team contributor.
Perform engineering analyses such as structural assessments, thermal evaluations, tolerance stack-ups, and other calculations required to support design decisions.
Support escape investigations, identifying root causes and execute implementation of corrective actions and design enhancements.
Provide design support in integrated product teams to implement design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
Prepare and present status and technical content to Program Chief Engineers, APU management, customers, and suppliers.
