Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is looking for a Trade & Working Capital Solutions - Global Origination Associate based in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid), Spain.

As a Trade & Working Capital Solutions – Global Origination Associate, you will contribute to the design and execution of cross-functional initiatives aimed at capturing market opportunities, adapting to evolving client needs and competitive dynamics, and aligning origination, product, and support teams around a shared strategic objective: driving T&WCS growth in line with SCIB and Santander Group priorities. You will gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of strategic projects, with opportunities to lead selected initiatives, collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, and develop materials for senior management.

• Conducting advanced analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, business gaps, and growth opportunities.
• Converting data-driven insights into concrete growth actions.
• Leading end-to-end project management, from scoping and requirements definition to execution planning, progress tracking, senior escalation, issue resolution, and stakeholder management (internal and external).
• Contributing to the preparation of strategic and business materials for senior management, supporting area oversight, governance, decision-making processes, and reporting.
• Defining and overseeing the development and implementation of advanced Data & AI models to enhance client insight, optimize value proposition, business performance, and drive operational efficiency.
• Collaborating closely with Trade & Working Capital Solutions Sales and Product teams across the world, building a deep understanding of product and market nuances, promoting best practice sharing, and supporting concrete origination efforts through insights, pitching materials, tailored content or participation in client meetings.
• Driving strategic communications to enhance SCIB T&WCS positioning and showcase flagship transactions, projects, and partnerships.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of working experience, excluding internships (required).
• Previous experience in Financial Institutions, Consulting, or in strategy, business development, customer intelligence or related roles within corporate environments (preferred).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Business Administration, Economics, Data & Business Analytics or Engineering studies (preferred).
• Master’s degree (preferred).

Languages

• Advanced English (required).
• Advanced Spanish (required).
• Other European languages such as Portuguese, French, Italian or German will be positively valued (preferred).

Hard Skills

• Strong analytical skills (required).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel and PowerPoint (required).
• Advanced data analytics skills (preferred).
• Professional use of AI tools to support analysis, content development, and workflow efficiency (preferred).
• Solid knowledge of finance principles (preferred).
