Senior Manager, Field Applications Engineering

The Role: 

Entegris Japan is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support semiconductor manufacturers, semiconductor OEMs, and material suppliers. The role will focus on contamination control through filtration solutions applied in semiconductor wet processes and manufacturing equipment, providing technical support and application expertise to customers. 

This position is located at the Entegris – Tokyo/Geino/Remote, Japan. 

In this role you will: 

The primary responsibility of the Field Application Engineer (FAE) is to provide marketing and technical solutions (MTS) to semiconductor chip manufacturers, OEMs, and material suppliers, helping customers improve their productivity, product quality, and manufacturing yield. 

To achieve this, the FAE works closely with customers and collaborates extensively with various organizations and functions within Entegris, fostering effective communication and strong cross-functional partnerships. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Assist with prototypes or derivative liquid filtration/purification products in both established and new applications. 

• Promote mature products in fab applications for defect reduction to improve customers yield. 

• Provide technical mechanisms and solutions to address issues faced by fabs and chemical suppliers using the appropriate Entegris products. 

• Participate in regular meetings with customers and internal teams (Account Managers, Applications, Quality Engineering, BU/PM) to share feedback, assess progress, drive solutions, and enhance communication regarding product evaluations and application challenges. 

• Engage in new business development, conduct market share analysis, and implement strategic initiatives. 

• Gather and share technical lessons learned with FAE technologists in other regions to expand business opportunities. 

• Demonstrate excellence in planning, execution, discipline, learning, leadership, and teamwork (exemplify Entegris PACE values)  

• Provide support for various documentation expectations such as business process documents, item tracking, performance reporting and continuous improvement project management.  

Traits we believe make a strong candidate: 

• BS or MS in Engineering  with experience in Semiconductor Engineering 

• 5+ years of experience in specialty WEC, Photo Track, CMP or related industry   

• Excellent communication, planning, organizational, and leadership skills. 

• Flexibility to adapt to various work environments, workforce dynamics, and customer needs. 

• Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, including Wet Etch Clean, Photolithography, and CMP-related defect reduction and yield improvement. 

• Fluent in English speaking, capable of effective communication through conversation, oral presentations, and written reports.
