Position Summary
Execute category strategy, drive key sourcing activities and act as a Business Partner to the key stakeholders of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Execution
- Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies for Logistics in alignment with global procurement objectives.
- Support the development and execution of category strategies aligned with global procurement objectives.
- Provide market and industry insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage assigned categories in line with the overall category strategy.
- Present recommendations and sourcing outcomes to decision boards and senior stakeholders.
Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and key suppliers.
- Translate business priorities into procurement initiatives and strategic sourcing approaches.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sourcing plans, roadmaps, and value creation opportunities.
- Build alignment across stakeholders and Procurement to achieve common objectives.
Supplier Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Define sourcing strategies and lead complex sourcing projects, RFx processes, supplier selection, negotiations, and due diligence activities.
- Lead cross-functional project teams throughout sourcing initiatives.
- Manage supplier lifecycle and supplier performance, including issue resolution and escalation of critical supplier-related risks.
- Drive implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coach and support sourcing specialists throughout sourcing and supplier management activities.
- Utilize eSourcing, Spend Visibility, and R2P tools to support sourcing excellence.
- Support sustainability initiatives and contribute to Scope 3 emissions reduction efforts.
Analysis, Risk & Compliance
- Conduct spend analysis, benchmarking, price analysis, Should-Cost modelling, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments.
- Prepare supplier comparisons and detailed cost evaluations to support decision-making.
- Ensure complete sourcing and contract documentation.
- Assess supplier risks and financial stability while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
Our requirements:
- University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or an equivalent qualification combined with relevant professional experience.
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is required; German would be a strong asset.
- Extensive procurement experience gained in an international environment.
- Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in Procurement, including at least 3 years within Logistics categories.
- Proven experience in logistics procurement, including areas such as transportation, warehousing, freight, and related logistics services.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices within Logistics and Supply Chain.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various functions and organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently with limited managerial guidance, solve complex business-critical issues, and make sound decisions within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Ability to prioritize multiple critical activities and manage them in a structured, solution-oriented, and results-driven manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with eSourcing tools and procurement systems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Willingness to travel regularly for business purposes (approximately 30%).
