We’re looking for a Director, Commercial Finance to join our team in London, UK
As the Director, Commercial Finance, you will play a key leadership role in driving the commercial finance agenda for Liberty Global’s Corporate entity. You will lead the Commercial Finance team who support corporate functional leaders across the business to pursue cost-efficiency opportunities and explore potential avenues for commercializing services provided to operating companies, as well as growth and services businesses. This role will manage end to end budgeting, forecasting, planning and reporting for the Corporate entity, and requires a results-driven individual who can drive commercial initiatives, operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement and financial discipline across the organization.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Commercial Finance
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for all Corporate functions ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results and insights to stakeholders
- Challenge stakeholders to explore cost reduction opportunities and revenue-generating avenues
- Development of critical KPI metrics to track functional performance with a focus on commercialization, efficiency and cost discipline by function to support strategic pivot to advisory business
- Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and sensitivity analysis, translated into meaningful and actionable insights
- Manage all external spend including ownership of consultancy request process, assessment and sign off before submission to CFO, Telecom and Services for approval
- Develop business case-backed transformation initiatives aligned with commercial finance objectives to streamline financial planning and reporting activity and drive efficiencies
- Collaborate with FP&A and other Finance teams to ensure alignment with broader finance transformation strategy and coordination of human and capital resources
Managed Service Agreement (MSA) Ownership
- Act as Corporate Managed Service Agreements (MSAs) owner and key point of contact for all customers and LG service providers
- Responsible for the implementation and in-life management of all LG Corporate MSAs
- Proactively identify potential revenue opportunities to implement new services with affiliate companies
- Develop monitoring and reporting framework to track in-life performance of existing and new corporate service agreements
- Develop performance dashboards for key corporate service agreements to facilitate customer service reviews and track in life performance of service delivery against applicable SLAs
- Develop and maintain revenue performance and reporting framework by service and customer
- Create and implement framework to enable contract revenue analysis and reporting by department, service line and by team
- Track contract expiration dates and proactively develop renewal strategy by customer
- Build and maintain standard pricing models to optimise efficiency and profitability of services agreements
- Continuously refine MSA processes to maximize efficiency, profitability, and long-term value for the business.
Talent Development
- Deputy to VP, Commercial Finance and key point of contact for CFO, Telecom and Services
- Act as a role model, demonstrating strong leadership, integrity, and professionalism
- Build and develop the commercial finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment to drive engagement and team morale
- Facilitate talent moves both within Commercial Finance team and wider finance function
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Strong leadership capabilities, with proven ability to inspire and develop a high performing team
- Comfortable working in an agile, commercially led environment, easily able to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly and calmly to constant change
- Track record of driving, project managing and implementing transformational change programs
- Exceptional grasp of the financials, forecasting and forward planning and ability to articulate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Skilled in managing and negotiating commercial contracts, including MSAs, with focus on governance, compliance, and value delivery
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to facilitate between contractual parties where needed
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical, pragmatic, and results-driven, with a strong ability to work with senior leadership and across departments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English (both verbal and written)
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Expertise in financial modeling, with the ability to create and maintain complex models.
- Experience with financial software (e.g., Oracle, Smartview, HFM) is highly desirable
- Experience using AI tools and platforms to increase productivity and efficiency
PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required: CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Preferred: Experience in financial planning and analysis, or a similar finance business partnering role
