The Baseline team is a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineering team of roughly 90 people across the globe, ensuring seamless operations and fleet support across all environments — from on-prem to cloud, and from commercial to government networks.
The Opportunity
Palantir is looking for a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer to join the Baseline team. Every day is different. You will develop software and provide high-quality support for systems that are critical to solving the government's greatest challenges — across environments that range from commercial cloud to classified government networks.
Palantir believes engineering teams should be responsible for the production systems they build. You will work closely with forward deployed and product teams on systems design, and share responsibility with them in diagnosing, resolving, and preventing production issues. If you want to operate real infrastructure at the intersection of software engineering and national security, this is that role.
What You'll Do
- • Handle support and operations of Palantir software including monitoring and alerting, configuration management, and upgrades
- • Deploy new Palantir products at customer deployments and perform migrations to the latest infrastructure types
- • Debug, improve, and optimize Palantir's services and infrastructure with a focus on long-term reliability and scalability
- • Reduce manual operations by automating workflows, processes, and runbooks wherever possible
- • Provide technical troubleshooting support for production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal operational impact
- • Participate in a support on-call schedule
You Should Have
- • Strong software engineering foundation with experience operating production infrastructure
- • Experience with configuration management, monitoring, alerting, and systems operations
- • Comfort working across cloud and on-prem environments
- • Ability to automate and reduce toil through scripting and tooling
- • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (required for government network access)
Nice to Have
- • Prior experience in forward deployed or embedded infrastructure engineering roles
- • Familiarity with Palantir platforms (Foundry, Gotham, or Apollo)
- • Experience supporting government or defense environments
