Job Description:

Responsible for leading all daily operations of the School Nutrition Services warehouse, including supervision of warehouse staff and drivers, inventory management, receiving, food distribution, and operational processes that support meal production across district school kitchens. Overseeing approximately $2 million in inventory, ensures the efficient, accurate, and cost-effective flow of food and supplies while maintaining high standards of food safety, regulatory compliance, customer service, and operational excellence. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.

ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Frequent exposure to low temperature levels in walk-in freezer and cooler.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent repetitive motions such as bending, squatting, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, and overhead work.
Regular lifting up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Personnel Management

• Supervise, train, and coach warehouse employees and drivers to ensure efficient daily operation.

• Promote a positive workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.

• Collaborate with Nutrition Services central office team, vendors, and school site personnel to support district operations.

• Respond to disruptions, concerns and requests from schools and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner, to minimize impact on meal service in schools.

Warehouse Operations

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, inventory management, and distribution.

• Ensure efficient workflow and staffing to meet district delivery schedules and operational needs. Monitor productivity and implement process improvements to increase efficiency as needed.

• Utilize warehouse management systems and other technology tools to support operational effectiveness.

• Resolve shipping, receiving, and delivery issues promptly and effectively.

• Collaborate with the Buyer and Inventory Specialist to ensure inventory levels, product availability, and distribution needs are effectively managed to minimize product issues and support uninterrupted meal service.

Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable USDA, federal, state, local, and district regulations governing food storage, handling, transportation, distribution, sanitation, and recordkeeping.

• Manage employee CDL licensing and DOT compliance, ensuring all applicable staff is licensed on time and required documentation is up to date.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested to support the goals and objectives of the School Nutrition Services Department.

Fleet and Equipment Management

• Oversee the operation and safe use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery vehicles, refrigeration systems, and related machinery.

• Coordinate with district transportation, maintenance, and external vendors to ensure delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment are maintained in safe operating conditions.

    

Work Experience:

Relevant experience managing warehouse operations, food distribution, inventory management, or logistics. Supervisory experience managing warehouse staff and drivers | Not Required

    

Certifications:

Forklift certification preferred - Co Dept of Human Services/OSHA, Valid Colorado Driver's License - Colorado Dept of Transportation

    

Education:

Bachelor's Degree, High School or Equivalent (Required)

$63,821.14 USD Annual

   

Maximum Hire Rate:

$80,870.57 USD Annual

   

Full Salary Range:

$63,821.14 USD - $97,920.00 USD Annual

• All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
