NIE invites applications for the position of Senior Technical Specialist in the Mathematics & Mathematics Education Department.

Responsibilities

• Managing the MME Outreach events to the Singapore schools, Ministry of Education and the academic faculties. The key events for MME include (1) the annual Mathematics Teachers Conference; (2) the bi-annual MME colloquium; (3) NIE / MME Mathematics challenge; (4) developing and maintaining social media outreach for MME.

• Provide IT/AV support for MME Department in the following areas: (a) coding and programming lessons; (b) cert in Primary Math Education course; (c) MME E- learning system; (d) manage MME labs for the IT/AV and facilities; (e) loaning of MME teaching manipulative, IT equipments and accessories; (f) MME representative for registering the removable storage media (RSM) in CAMs; (g) support MME lecturer with technical problem on the new laptop; (h) stamping of MME calculator for students before end-of-term examination.

• MME Website, social media and MME server management. Website management includes (1) School Mathematics Mastery Test; and (2) MME Math Qualify Test (MQT) system. Social media includes Facebook, X and Xiaohongshu.

• Video recording and video editing of MME events.

• Provide support roles in (a) assist Head MME for the NIE workload system; (b) MME facilities lab Booking Administrator; (c) manage and maintain Computer Labs and Math Labs; (d) MME Staff Welfare Committee (SWC) member.

• Provide Finance support in (a) Economy Drive Saving; (b) collating purchase requests for computer hardware and software; (c) supporting Good Receipt Officer; (d) keeping track of MME software and maintenance fund usage; (e) annual Software License Renewal; (f) managing MME fixed assets and records of inventories.

• Any other tasks assigned.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline, preferably related to Computer and Technologies.

• At least one year of experience as a technical support staff.

• Strong technical support and administrative skills, with experience in website/social media management, video recording and video editing, will be an added advantage.

• Ability to multi-task, work independently and effectively in a team.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.  

• Hard working, self-discipline, responsible, committed.
