Position Summary
The HR Supervisor leads day-to-day human resources for our metal building manufacturing plant, with primary ownership of recruiting, payroll, FMLA/ADA compliance, and employee relations. The role partners closely with Safety and Operations. Must be comfortable working on an active production floor with employees on every shift.
Essential Duties
• Recruiting: Manage full-cycle hiring for production, welding, fabrication, and office roles; conduct consistent, job-related screening; complete I-9/E-Verify; assist new-hire orientation.
• Payroll: Oversee accurate hourly and salaried payroll, including overtime and deductions; administer timekeeping; ensure FLSA and state wage-and-hour compliance.
• Leave and compliance: Administer FMLA; lead the ADA interactive accommodation process; coordinate with workers’ compensation, PWFA, and state leave laws; keep confidential medical and personnel records.
• Employee relations: Serve as the point of contact for employee concerns; conduct impartial investigations; advise supervisors on discipline and policy; support engagement and retention.
• Safety partnership: Work with the Safety Manager on OSHA recordkeeping, workers’ compensation claims, return-to-work programs, training records, and the safety committee.
• Supervise the on-site HR team and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business, or equivalent education and experience.
• 4+ years of HR experience
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, I-9, and OSHA recordkeeping.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is split between an office and a steel fabrication plant with noise, welding fumes, moving equipment, and seasonal temperatures. Requires regular sitting and computer work, frequent walking and standing on concrete floors, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
