What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, leads the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, manages refrigeration units, and coordinates field teams to optimize system performance. The position requires detailed documentation, adherence to regulatory codes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement operational improvements. Additionally, the Senior Technician provides hands-on training, supports critical service needs, and manages parts inventory and vendor relationships to maintain efficient facility operations.

What you'll do:
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration units and building pneumatics.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Manage refrigerant handling, inventory, and vendor relationships in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical business needs outside regular hours.
- Maintain company vehicles and ensure adherence to safety and operational policies.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration and HVAC units.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant systems in commercial settings.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
- Experience leading field teams, mentoring technicians, and managing escalated service calls.
- Ability to manage parts inventory, vendor relationships, and coordinate service calls to meet business.
- Proficient in documenting work orders, maintenance logs, and submitting required reports accurately.
- Skilled in operating company vehicles safely and in accordance with policies.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, safety training, and adapting to evolving technologies and processes.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
