Description
Catawba County is recruiting a highly motivated Programmer Analyst who has excellent collaboration skills as well as good working knowledge of technology systems and programming. In this position, you will work collaboratively with County staff to update existing systems and work to create applications that maximize efficiency and effective government services. You will be responsible for application support, assisting with planning new applications, and developing new applications. In addition, this position is responsible for some database management, data integrity, and compliance.
- Collaborate with department management, other programmers, software engineers, and other internal/external staff to:
- Create and/or support strategically viable, customer friendly, and technically advanced computer systems
- Develop updates/enhancements and ensure data integrity for databases, including mapping linkages to other databases and developing necessary software, maintaining core tables, analyzing, correcting problems, and assisting staff as needed
- Support system-wide applications by creating/modifying reports and Smart Forms
- Complete a variety of other special technology projects, as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related degree; OR
- Associate's degree in Information Technology or related degree and 1 year of programmer/analyst experience; OR
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and 4 years of programmer/analyst experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to work productively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to break apart complex situations and work with a variety of staff to create best-in-class software applications
- Experienced and adaptable to working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- This position is considered light work, lifting up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
Preferences:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, plus two years of experience as listed below:
- Primary Languages: C#, VB, HTML5/CSS3, typescript/javascript, sql/t-sql, xml, json
- Frameworks, Libraries, Design Patterns: .NET MVC, WinForms
- Development Tools: Visual Studio/VS Code, Azure DevOps, SQL Server Management Studio
- UI/UX experience, specifically styling with CSS
