Description
Frantz Ward is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts receivable experience who enjoys working with people and wants the opportunity to expand their skills beyond a traditional AR role.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with our attorneys, Accounting team, and clients to help manage the Firm's accounts receivable process. Because this role involves direct client interaction, we are looking for someone who combines strong accounting skills with excellent communication, professionalism, and good judgment.
We also want this position to provide room for professional growth. In addition to accounts receivable responsibilities, this individual will have the opportunity to be cross-trained in other areas of the Firm's accounting operations, including accounts payable and payroll, providing valuable exposure to the broader financial operations of a law firm.
What You'll Do
- Assist with and help manage the Firm's accounts receivable and collection processes.
- Communicate directly and professionally with clients regarding outstanding balances, payments, and account questions.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys to follow up on outstanding receivables and determine appropriate next steps.
- Process and accurately record client payments.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and account-related questions.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and prepare related reports.
- Assist with electronic payments and other client payment arrangements.
- Provide responsive, service-oriented support to attorneys, clients, and colleagues.
- Cross-train in additional Accounting Department functions, including accounts payable and payroll.
- Assist with other accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of accounts receivable, accounting, billing, or related experience.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred, particularly in a role involving client interaction.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle client conversations professionally and tactfully.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and client information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of the Accounting team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with Centerbase is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with electronic billing (e-billing) software or platforms is a plus, but not required.
